Voice-Activated Scrolling

Set up hands-free scrolling that follows your speaking pace.

Voice scrolling follows the words you actually say. Pause and the script waits; change pace and it changes with you. The experience is similar everywhere, but the recognition technology differs by platform.

Check what your platform needs

AndroidRuns on your device; English is built in, other languages need a one-time voice-pack downloadWorks offline

On mobile, microphone audio stays on the device.

Turn on voice scrolling

On Android

Open a script and tap Voice Control in the teleprompter controls. If its language pack is missing, VoiceCue offers the download before you begin.

Allow microphone access

Accept the microphone permission the first time VoiceCue asks. Recognition cannot follow your position without it.

Press play and read normally

Start playback and speak at your natural pace.

  • Pause whenever you need to; the script waits.
  • Do not slow down or over-enunciate for the microphone.
  • If you misread a word, keep going. VoiceCue re-syncs within a few words.

Tune how it behaves

You can choose between tighter movement and a smoother glide, show or hide the active-word highlight, and enable voice commands.

  • Mobile: open Voice control options from the teleprompter’s Settings (gear) button or from Settings → Teleprompter Settings; both open the same settings.

Move around when you need to

Swipe or scroll manually to another part of the script. Tracking resumes from wherever you land, so you can repeat a section without restarting the whole take.

If it is not tracking

On mobile, check that the installed voice pack matches the script language. Background noise can reduce recognition accuracy.

Next, learn the voice commands for moving around without touching the screen. Mobile users can also review voice packs and languages.
