Keeping the camera and teleprompter together puts the script close to the lens and makes your eyeline feel more natural. You will need camera and microphone permission the first time you record.
Turn on the camera
On Android
Open a script and choose Video mode. The camera preview appears behind the scrolling text. Choose Audio Only instead if you need a voice recording without video.
Choose the camera and recording quality
Decide this before a long take.
- Mobile: open Recording Settings to choose the camera and microphone, or turn on 4K Recording (Pro). 4K uses more storage and battery, so check that the device has enough free space.
Frame yourself
Put the camera at eye level rather than leaving a phone or laptop low on a desk. Move slightly farther back than feels natural; distance is more flattering than a wide lens at arm’s length and makes small eyeline movements less obvious.
Record and save the take
Start recording, then run the script normally. Voice scrolling, voice commands and the reading cue continue to work.
On Android
A REC indicator and timer confirm that VoiceCue is recording. Finished takes appear on the Videos tab, where you can play or export them.
Make the first take disposable
Record thirty seconds that you already plan to delete. The first take is often the fastest and stiffest; using it as a warm-up makes the real recording easier.
