Folders, Search and Sorting

Keeping a script library usable once you have more than a screenful: folders, search and sort order on the Home tab.

Everything here is on the Home tab. This matters more than it sounds, because the point at which scripts get hard to find is the point at which people stop bothering with a teleprompter for short pieces.

Folders

The folder icon with a + at the top of Home makes one, and folders can contain folders, so a structure like Client → Project → Scripts works.

The useful split is usually by recurrence rather than by topic. Scripts you’ll record once can sit in a dated folder you never open again; scripts you re-record, such as intros, outros and standard explanations, deserve somewhere you can reach quickly.

Search scripts… at the top of Home searches your library. It’s faster than working through folders once you have more than a handful, and it’s why the folder structure doesn’t need to be perfect.

Sorting

Sort by date to keep recent work at the top, which suits most people most of the time.

Selecting several at once

Long-press a script to start selecting, then Move them into a folder, Export them, or delete them together. Faster than working one at a time after a shoot.

An icon at the top of Home switches between list and grid layouts. Grid suits a library you recognise by name; list fits more on screen.

A note on length

Scripts can be any length. On the free plan you can keep up to 5 scripts; Pro is unlimited.

For a long piece, consider recording it in sections anyway. Shorter takes are cheaper to redo, and you’ll redo at least one.
