Editing a Script with AI

Six one-tap edits plus a free-text instruction, for reshaping a script you've already got rather than generating a new one.

AI scripts are a Pro feature. This works on any script, whether you wrote it or generated it.

Open AI edit

In the script editor, tap the sparkles icon (AI Edit) at the top. It shows the current word count so you can see what a shorten or expand actually did.

Pick an edit

Six presets, each one tap:

EditUse it when
ShortenThe script runs long. Roughly 150 words a minute is the conversion.
ExpandA section is too thin to carry the point.
Fix grammarCleaning up a fast draft or a transcript.
SimplifySentences are too dense to say out loud in one breath.
Make formalClient or corporate work.
Make casualAlmost everything on camera.

Simplify and Make casual are the two worth reaching for by default. Both push the script toward how people actually talk, which is the thing that decides whether a read sounds natural.

Or write your own instruction

Custom instruction takes free text. Describe the change rather than the outcome: “cut the second paragraph and merge the intro into one sentence” works better than “make it better”.

Read the result aloud

Every time, before you record. It takes a minute and it’s the only reliable test.

A model can make a script shorter, simpler or more casual. It can’t tell you which sentences you will trip over, and those are the ones that make a take sound read rather than spoken.

Editing beats regenerating

If a generated script is nearly right, edit it. Regenerating rolls the dice on everything, including the parts that were already good.

The exception is structure. If the running order is wrong, no amount of editing fixes it. Go back to generation with a better description.
